Motorcycle Repair: 1975 XLCH Replacing Clutch cable, replacing clutch, harley service

Question
My clutch cable snapped and I need to replace this cable. I know I have to remove the primary cover, but what else do I need to do or look for when I try to replace the cable. Another words looking for some diagram I can use to go by when I do this. Never done it before

Answer
If you need diagrams you would have to get a harley service manual. You would find the diagrams you need in there. Once you remove the primary cover then you remove the cable. Then you install the cable in the primary, install the primary and then install the cable int he lever. Adjust the cable so the adjuster is all the way in the primary. Then adjust the clutch and then adjust the cable. When you adjust the clutch make sure the actuator in the primary is allt he way to the rear.
