Motorcycle Repair: Tranny oil leak, clutch assembly, delkron

Question
QUESTION: I'm trying to help a buddy with a transmission oil leak on an s/s 113 and a delkron tranny.  The leak seems to be between the engine and tranny.  What's involved in replacing that gasket?

ANSWER: Are you talking the primary gasket or the inner primary gasket?

QUESTION: I'm going to call it the inner primary gasket.  Where the tranny mates up to the engine.

Answer
The trans does not attach to the engine. It is connected by the inner primary. Where it ataches to the motor there is a large o-ring. There is no gasket at the rear. There is a seal in  the inner primary however.
If you are going to replace the 0-ring or seal you have to remove the primary cover, motor sprocket, clutch assembly, starter jackshaft and starter to get the inner primary out
Good luck and happy riding
