Motorcycle Repair: CBX1000 left 3 cylinders not running, stock airbox, medium jets

Question
After the past winter my CBX1000 Prolink 2nd and 3d cylinder did not fire. Sparks OK. Tapped on the carb's vacuum piston housings and the gradually started firing. I could not ride for a few months and now all three left cylinder remain cold. Any idea what that could be? All plugs work fine. Thanks in advance.
Henk.

Answer
It is almost certainly a carburettor issue, since the ignition system is shared between 1-6, 2-5 and 3-4...  Usually the slow-medium jets clog and this causes the problem you describe.  Unfortunately you will need to tilt the engine forward to get the carbs out if you have a stock airbox, unless you have aftermarket air filters.  This is becoming a common job on CBX's.
