Motorcycle Repair: 1984 fxrt, cheap batteries, harley fxrt

Question
QUESTION: i have a 1984 harley fxrt 1340cc evo. I have replaced the starter, the solenoid, both pos. and neg. cables, spark plugs. Had the battery checked ? seems to be good, regulator has been replaced, charging system has been check (ok) - when I try to start the bike the head light is bright, when i hit the start button i can hear the starter kicking in, primary chain spinning, but the bike kind of grooaaans like its trying to turn over but just doesnt seem to be enough force/speed or omf to get the thing to turn over. yesterday i kept hitting the button and it finally turned over and started. sounded good. but now im back to the clicking and groaning

ANSWER: You had a question mark after battery checked and seems to be good. Did you have it checked for cranking amps. If you didnt, you need to. If you have not enough cranking amps it willdrag
Good luck and happy riding

QUESTION: i added a new battery to my list o new parts :-) same thing. do i need a better starter? i bought a stock hitachi.

Answer
Check your grounding point. If you dont have a good ground it will have trouble turning over. Make sure your bike in not to far advanced, that will cause dragging. The new battery you bought, make sure its a good battery. Some of the cheap batteries dont have many cranking amps
