Motorcycle Repair: it wont start., starter relay, time doug

Question
QUESTION: My bike was running fine one day.   then the next time I went out to ride it would not start.
when i tired to start it it just clicked.  There was power to the horn and lights. know the click is gone when I try to start it

There is still power to the lights.  now I am charging the battery  its been charging for 7 hours still nothing. I am working my way back words. Not sure if its a loose wire. or a fuse
I don't believe its the starter because It wasn't making typical starter noises. this is my first Harley But I have had other bikes
It is a Harley sportser 2004  Thanks for your time.
Doug

ANSWER: Check to see if the starter relay is sending power to the starter. If not the relay is bad
Good luck and happy riding

QUESTION: HOW DO I CHECK THE STARTER RELAY AND HOW WOULD I KNOW IF ITS SENDING POWER?

Answer
Look ont he starter and you will see two wires. The big one is from the battery and and small one is from the relay. Check, with the test light, the small wire and see if there is power there when you press the starter button.
Good luck and happy riding
