Motorcycle Repair: Road King mufflers, drag pipes, baffles

Question
Will I burn out the valves on my Road King fuel injected motor if I remove the baffles from my mufflers?  Also, do I need some back pressure in the exhaust?  Thanks

You can. What happens is opening up the exhaust like that makes your exhaust drag pipes. Drag pipes work well at high RPMs, but at the RPMs that you ride they take power away. When you remove the baffles you will lean out the bike. Lean makes it run hotter and to hot will burn a valve. Some back pressure will make hte bike run better with more horses
