Motorcycle Repair: No start 93 lowrider, battery cables, motorcycle repair
93 LowRider
QUESTION: Hi, I have a 93 Lowrider that wont start. I tested the Battery, starter, starter relay. I am getting a big voltage draw when I hit the start button. Reading goes from 13.39 volts to under 4. I disconnected and checked all of the connections on circuits and installed a new starter( had it laying around). Cleaned all ground connections. Wondering if it is the Voltage Regulator but I dont know how to check that. Had a big ride last weekend and bike ran great, parked it in the garage now I have the problem.  Oh  yeah, rode it through a thunderstorm during my ride if that might make a difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

ANSWER: Are you getting any spark?

QUESTION: Yes I have spark to front and back plugs.

Answer
It cant be the regulator. It does not draw any current. Since you have such a big draw I would test the battery cables and recheck your positive connections as well as grounds. You have changed the starter so it cant be that. When you are trying to start it the only thing drawing current is lights and starter.

Good luck and happy ridig
