Motorcycle Repair: motorcycle under water for a few 3 days, sensers, maintance

Question
My 08 Dyna Streetbob has been caught in a flood here in tennessee. I would like to know what to do, and what should I expect. What will I need to do about the engine, transmission, and electrical. Will this cause future problems with the bike, after I take care of the problems. It has had regular maintance kept up on it. Can you please help me on my issue.

Thanks Ronald

Answer
First, drain a the water out of the trans, primary and engine. Next, refill them with oil and start the bike and see if it will run. If it doesnt, then the electricals need to dry out. Wait about a week and try again. If it still doesnt start then your going to have to start checking all the wiring and sensers. If it starts, run it till it warms up and drain the fluids and refill. Keep doing this until the oils do not foam anymore and there is no water in them. The future problem can be anything from wiring shorts, sensers failing, to bearings failing from being wet to long
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
