Motorcycle Repair: sticky brake light, brake lever, handlebar

Mike, welcome back, I have a 2001 1200 sportster custom, onnce in a while i have where the brake light sticks on, when i repeatally press the rear brake pedal it goes off, other times no problem, what can i do to possibly eliminate the problem, allways a pleasure, thanx dennis, p.s. sometime the front brake as well

Looking at the handlebars, where the brake lever is, you will see that the lever is attached to the handlebar by a bracket and the throttle is connected by a different bracket. Those brackets have to be pushed together tightly or the light will come on and stay on. If this doesnt help let me know
