Motorcycle Repair: Motor Rebuild, harley dealer, independent shop

Question
Mr. Well's
I have a 2003 FLHPI. When i bought the bike it only had 2200 miles on it. I am aproching the 30,000 mile mark, have done all the maintenance on it myself when it was due. I have always used HD recomended oils. My plan was to upgrade to CVO Ultra Classic in June of 2012. I just installed an aftermarket Fairing and now have a great sound system. The only thing i lack now is the CVO Motor. My question is this, Should i Buy an S&S motor or rebuild the stock motor, and any idea on the costs of each? Thanks for your help,

Answer
Building your motor up would be cheaper than buying a new motor. As to how much I am not going to be able to tell you. I have no way of knowing what labor costs are across the country. Also, it is going to be different depending on if you use a harley dealer or a independent shop. You would have to check around your area for prices.
Good luck and happy riding
