Motorcycle Repair: Starter, starter motor, splines

WHERE IS THE STARTER LOCATED ON THIS 1986 MODEL GOLDWING ASPERCADE 1200CC?

Answer
Starter on the goldwing is located on the left side as you're sitting on the bike.  Look at the cylinders, then back a little you will see a 100mm long 3inch round motor held in typically with two bolts.  If you undo the bolts, the starter motor will come out towards the front of the bike.

It's tricky to get back in since it has to mesh with splines on a gear wheel which is not supported inside the engine, so be patient.
