Motorcycle Repair: front fork seals and oil change, fork seals, allen bolt

I'm sure i can do the oil change but not sure with forks can you help me? i have 1995 883 sportster

Answer
First to change the fork seals you have to remove the caliber, fender and front wheel. Remove the top cap. Be careful, it has a spring under it. Remove the screw on the side of the fork to drain the fork oil. Once that is drained, at the bottom of the fork, inside, there is a allen bolt. remove it and the lower fork will slide off the upper fork tube. Looking inside you will see a clip. remove it and the washer and you will see the seal. remove it and install the new one and put it back together in reverse order. Install the fork oil from the top cap.
