Motorcycle Repair: Tranny fluid drain plug, 2 quarts, drain plug

Question
Is the drain plug for the transmission on a 2001 softail in between the shocks up above or lower on the frame. I just pulled a drain plug I thought was the transmission but the plug was near the front and a friend told me the drain plug was up between the shocks...if this is so what did I drain?

The drain for the trans is inbetween the shocks in the center. there are only 3 things that are drained underneith the bike. The tranny, motor oil and primary oil. If it were motor oil you should have gotten out about 3 quarts. Primary oil you would have gotten about 1 1/2 quarts.
It sounds like you drained the motor oil.
