2005 suzuki ozark 250 qud. rear brake sticking,the cable is not releasing.

Answer
Dan, take the cable off of the rear brake arm first. If the brake is still sticking, then the brake cam is probably frozen in the backing plate or there is something loose in the brake drum.

With the cable disconnected, check to see if the cable is seizing up, as well, before reinstalling it on the brake arm. It may have broken strands internally or gotten rusted up inside.
