Motorcycle Repair: Stator motor replacement, 1982 honda cb900f, stator windings

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1982 Honda CB900F, and I'm trying to replace the stator motor. I've taken off the covering but cant get the stator motor off of it. It seems to be stuck and I was wondering if there is some little trick to take it off? Are there any other tricks I should know about when replacing it? The manual is not specific.
Thanks.

ANSWER: Paul-Ivan, I am not sure if you mean the stator rotor or the starter motor?

To remove the stator rotor (which is often the cause of charging system failures) you need to buy a removal tool..   http://pitposse.com/pullerchart.html  #MP17

The starter motor is just held in with the two bolt and an O-ring seals around the nose of the starter motor. It has to come straight out to clear the housing where the O-ring seats. Just use a big screwdriver or pry-bar. Try in a strong section of the starter motor so you don't crush something while you are prying it out. The O-ring is probably holding it in there for now.

QUESTION: It's the stator rotor(the part with the magnets and copper wiring that goes round the stator motor). It's completely stuck, I haven't been able to separate it. Can you tell me how to separate it from the casing?
Thanks.

If you have removed the long screws, then the stator windings should slide out with event tension on both sides. Reach inside with your fingers and push the case away, while you are lifting the stator back out. It is a machined tight fit. If you have problems lifting it out, try putting a heat lamp on it, or putting it in the oven at about 150 degrees for a few minutes. If you put it up on some blocks around the edges, the stator may fall out after awhile in the oven.
