Motorcycle Repair: stalls, vapor lock, korry

Question
I have a 2000 softail after riding a mile or so it just dies i wait about 10 min and it starts agian and then stalls after another mile. just keeps doing that??

Answer
Korry, I really don't speak H-D brand motorcycle. When it dies, you have to check right away for the absence of spark or fuel. The bike is almost 10 years old now and if it sat for a long time, the fuel venting system could be restricted or whatever other fuel delivery components involved could be affected.

In some cases, an electrical component could be failing as it warms up, then recovers in the cool-down period.

Take tools with you and go riding into a safe area where you can pull over and then check for spark and fuel. Try opening the gas cap for a minute or so, then try to restart it again, in case there is a vapor lock in the tank.
