Motorcycle Repair: Alternator Ring Lip broken, hi mike, o ring

Hi Mike,
I have a 1992 Dyna Glide with an oil leak. I found the lip on the case where the Alternator O-ring sits is broken, so oil is leaking from there.  I put silicone on there hoping that would seal it but it is still leaking a little bit.  Any idea the best way to fix this without having to remove case and have them welded and machined?  A friend told me there is a repair kit that may fix this.  Do you know how that works, what product is, and if it is worthwhile?

I know that V-Twin Manufacturing used to make a kit for that repair, but they dont have them anymore and I dont know of any other company that makes one. About the only thing you are going to be able to do is tear the motor down and have it welded up.
