QUESTION: Yes I did change the spring, aswell as stretched it after it didn't make any difference.Do they make a heavy duty solenoid kit? Don't know what to do......Suzanne

Answer
Since you are running a high compression piston, the stock starter isnt handling it. Its taking so much current to turn the motor over that is burning the solenoid and making it stick. First, you need to make sure you hve a really good ground. A weak ground wont work. Next, you can go a couple of different routes. You can put in a high output battery, like a big bore, or you can put in a higher amp starter. I would go with the high amp starter.
Good luck and happy riding
