Motorcycle Repair: harley problem, heritage springer, loose wires

97 heritage springer soft tail haveing trouble with passing lamp they stay on and every couple of miles they turn off for a wile and then come back on there are no broken or loose wires checked lamps and they are rated for 55 watts and him not sure what the watts are on the bulb i could not remove it in order to bypass it put a toggle switch how hard will that be

If the lamps go off, but not the headlight, then you have a short in the wiring going to the lamps. If you want to add a toogle switch, locate the power going to both lamps and install a switch in a location that is good for you, then run the hot wire to it and the wire going to the lamps.
