Motorcycle Repair: 1978 Honda cb125, honda cb125, chain slides

Question
QUESTION: Just finished a top end job but need to know how to adjust the timing chain on my 1978 CB. There is a small black rubber cover over a large nut then it has a smaller 10mm head by 1/2 inch bolt that goes thru the center of the nut. How do I adjust this and can I di it while the enine is running. Thank You Doug

ANSWER: Doug-- Remove the inspection cover, get piston at top dead center, line up your timing marks while the piston is at top dead center.  Then you can put the timing chain on.  No-- you can not do this while the bike is running.  Hope this helps!!! Let me know!!

QUESTION: I already have the bike running but it seems like alot of chatter from the timing chain. Isee that there is an adjustment bolt I think on the left side of the cylinder. I need to know how to adjust this. It has a large nut closest to the crankcase and a small half inch long bolt going in the top of the nut. Do you know how to adjust the tension on the cam chain slides. Thanks again Doug

Answer
Doug-- I am not greatly sure with that certain bike.  I don't want to mislead you.  It may be best to get a manual for the bike.  They are typically pretty reasonable.  I'm sorry i couldn't be anymore help.  Hope all goes well for you.  Let me know what you find out.
