Motorcycle Repair: 2003 Lowrider, trickle charger, chect

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2003 low rider.  It was not started for 2 years.  I have replaced the battery and fuel filter (drained the tank and added about 1 gallon of 92 octane).  It still won't turnover.  Do I mess with the carburateor or swallow my pride and take it to the shop?  Should I worry about the oil?

ANSWER: Did you charge the battery overnight at 2 amps? When you try to turn it over does it just click?

QUESTION: No clicks, it has the amps.  I used a trickle charger and it took about 36 hours or so to give me the green light.  I haven't measured the amps but it never ran down (clicked) as I kept trying to start it (laid on the starter for about 10 seconds 4-5 times)  And again a few hours later.
I'm scared the gaskets have dried out.

ANSWER: What you need to do is see if you hve power going to the starter. First, chect to make sure you hve a good ground. Check both ends of the ground wire. Now, with a test light, Check at the starter cable from the battery, to see if you have 12 volts. Next, check to see if you have power going to the starter button and when pressing the button see if you have power going to the starter relay. If you do, check at the starter for 12 volts when you hit the starter button. If you dont then the starter relay is bad.
Let me know what you find

QUESTION: I think I've used the wrong terminology.  The starter is cranking the engine.  The engine is not catching.  You can hear it turning it just won't start running.  Gummed carburateor?  No oil in engine?  There is oil in the pan (it's full and black).  I've done the duck walk in high gear.

Answer
If the motor is turning over and not firing, then first, pull the plugs and see if you are getting a spark. If you are, then remove the air cleaner, so you can look down the throat of the carb and twisting the throttle are you getting a shot of fuel?
