Motorcycle Repair: Wont Idle, honda 750, keihin carbs

Question
I have a 81 Honda 750 C 4-cylinder, It sat for about 3-5 years, I changed the plugs and pulled the carbs to clean the jets, I got it started up with fresh super plus fuel. I cannot get it to hold idle by itself, I can hold open the choke and keep it running or hold the throtle to keep it running other then that it stalls out, I've been told that where it has sat for a while if I run it for a while with carb and choke cleaner in the fuel it may come out of it and hold Idle, is that true or do you have any tips that could help?
Thank you,
Nick

Answer
Hi,  The Keihin carbs you have are renowned for troublesome idle circuits if the bike is stored.  This will not likely clear up, as the passages are very small and the jets are tough to get to.  But it can be done, however the cabs will have to come off again.  There will be some websites where the cleaing is described.  Good luck,  Jan
