Motorcycle Repair: throttle/idle cable adjustment, stock bars, throttle grip

Question
I have a 2004 sportster883.I REPLACED THE STOCK BARS WITH A SET OF BARS OFF A 2008 CROSSBONES.THE BIKE NOW IDLES MUCH HIGHER THAN IT DID BEFORE I CHANGED THE BARS. I AM GUESSING THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE CABLES IS WRONG, BUT AM NOT CLEAR ON WHICH TO ADJUST,OR HOW MUCH.THE BIKE IDLED FINE BEFORE I MADE THIS CHANGE. ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED.  THANK YOU.

Answer
Go to the adjusters on the cables. They are close to the throttle. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster so there is slack int he cable. Start the bike and at the carb set the idle where you want it. The screw is located above where the cable goes in the carb. Now go back to the throttle adjuster and turn it so there is a slight amount of slack in the throttle grip. Then adjust the idle cable the same way
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
