Motorcycle Repair: 49 Panhead Kick Starting Issues, mount victory ohio, panhead chopper

QUESTION: Mike, I have a 49 Panhead chopper with an S&S carb (I did not build the motor... so I am not certain what other mods were made). The bike is beautiful, BUT a killer to kick start. I have tried different routines, reset the timing, checked points, plugs, etc. I love the bike but really can't depend on it becasue you never know if it will fire. You mentioned you are in Ohio (so am I).. can I ask your location ? Maybe I would bring it for you to take a look if you still have a shop...

QUESTION: It has a S&S Super "E" Carb. What do you think ? John

try starting it by, with the ignition off, twist the throttle a couple of times and kick it over. Then turn the choke on and the ignition. Kick it and see if it starts. If it doenst, do the same as above. Also, pull your plugs and let me know what color they are
