Motorcycle Repair: 2000 883, hydraulic lifters, rocker boxes

how do i get to the push rods to adjust? this is my first harley.

Answer
The 2000 883 model has hydraulic lifters with no adjustment necessary. If you hear a ticking noise from the right side lower end especially after your motor has warmed up you have a lifter that is bleeding down while in use. This lifter must be hunted down and replaced. This will require the removable of the rocker boxes, pushrods and tubes then the lifter blocks with lifters.
