Motorcycle Repair: Starting a bike, rigth side, battery life

Does it make a difference on battery life if you start your bike in neutral or in 1st gear (with the clutch engaged)? Marriage is hanging on this answer... LOL

Well I hope you are on the rigth side of this reply...  I would imagine that the starting in gear will cause more drain on the battery because of increased drag when the starter is activated.  However cycling a battery is not a bad thing, as long as it is recharged again...  So you may both be right.
