Motorcycle Repair: 1982 honda xl100s dirtbike, spark plug gap, rotor stator

I dont know if you know the answer but i would like to know what the spark plug gap should be for a XL100S? i would also like to know if you know what the the vavle lash is for this bike. Thank you.

Alex, the spark plug gap is about .026" which is about what they are out of the box when new.

Valve clearances are .002" on both intake and exhaust valves. Set them COLD and on the T mark alignment of the rotor/stator on COMPRESSION STROKE. If the valves are both slightly open at the T mark alignment, turn the engine over ONE full turn and check again. The T mark comes up on Compression stroke and Overlap strokes on a 4 cycle engine.
