Motorcycle Repair: 1974 Honda CB550-4 Electrical, honda cb550, fuse block

Question
Bill, I have a 74 Honda CB550 that was running fine with no indication of any problems.  It died bringing it out of the garage, and now I have absolutely nothing from the electrical system.  No lights, no starter, no horn, nothing.  This bike has a new battery with a good charge.  Help!!

Answer
Phil, the ignition switch bases on these bikes tend to work loose and the retainer tabs break off.

Turn the handlebars from side to side a few times and see if things try to come back to life again.

That is the most probable cause....

Otherwise, look at the fuse block back by the battery.

Sure you didn't leave the ignition switch in PARK position when you shut it off last time????  :>)
