Motorcycle Repair: 98 fatboy carborated and stalling as if out of fuel, petcock, fatboy

I have 98 hd fatboy - at times when at a stop ready to hit first gear , or first starting up it acts as if its starving for fuel or like its running out when in fact it still has 2-3 gallons .. what could cause this ?

Answer
First, remove the hose from the carb and see if you get a as flow through the hose. If you dont get any or not much then you see to remove the petcock and check the screen in it. If you have a vaccumn operated petcock then to check the petcock you would have to put a vaccumn on the line.
