Motorcycle Repair: 81 honda 500cx, blown head gaskets, electrosport

my 81 honda 500cx overheats very quickly the bike is a great runner besides the overheating when i purchased the bike i changed the fluids and basic tune up plugs oil etc it ran good for a while and now i have this problem im using 50 50 coolant should i consider changing the coolant or could my thermostat be the problem.i changed the fluids and flushed the radiator after i do that it runs great for about a week then goes back to overheating im lost on what to do?.....thanks also do you know where i could find an alternator for a decent price most places iv asked are running about 300 to 220 for aftermarket piece thanks again....

Mike, blown head gaskets on CX500s are not unheard of, but I would definitely change the thermostat first, then be sure that you bleed all the air out of the system and check the fan for damage. CX500 fans tended to crack at the hub, causing them to wobble around, making a lot of noise.

Electrosport in SoCal has replacement stators for CX500-650s.
