Motorcycle Repair: 1981 Yamaha 750 Virago, 750 virago, clutch cable

Question
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.  I have a 1981 Yamaha 750 Virago that i have solved some of the starter issues etc. it runs  nice, but i notice if i give it throttle very fast in any gear it seemsto be the clutch slipping (not terribly but still slipping) if i ride it normally i can go highway speeds etc. with no problem. Only slips if i lay on it hard.  Thanks Ken

Answer
Check the clutch cable adjustment, adjust the clutch pushrod, per the service manual that I know you own, and if this doesn't fix it then it is worn clutch fiber plates and springs. Get new springs fiber plates, oil and filter, clutch cover gasket. Check the steelplates for bluing... if they are blued from overheating replace these too...

I am not sure what you wanted other than, in your words..." very short/brief response" That's an odd thank you for resolving your issue....for free. You asked a technical question, you got a technical answer. Oh and I STILL urge you to own a manual for every vehicle you own.
Oh and there is no clutch rod adjustment on that bike.
I hope you don't get flustered by my response...
