Question
QUESTION: Just bought 02'1200c that had not been run for 4 years..I replaced the battery, changed the oil, new plugs, cleaned fuel tank, cleaned main, idle and pilot jets and complete carb three times.. replaced diafram and slide, removed float and needleseat.. bike is stock. main is 185, pilot is 45, air screw out 2 turns..I did drill new slide with 1/8" bit.. Bike fires right up with full choke then half choke and will idle within 30 seconds.  After that if you try to give it throttle gently it will rev 1000 rpm higher then die.. If you leave the choke half on it will rev alittle higher then die.. It is a california bike also..It will idle without any problem until you give it throttle..It did not run when I bought it..It only has 1600 miles.I also checked hoses and vacumm lines please help    THANK YOU

ANSWER: When you try to rev the bike up, looking down the throat of the carb, is the slide moving?

ANSWER: Check the diaphram. It might either have a hole in it or its not seated correctly or pinched

QUESTION: New diafram and slide I know it is seated properly and no tears, some one said acc/pump diafram..

Answer
Since you say the diaphram is in correct and it doesnt slide when giving it throttle then one of the passages in the carb is plugged. It cant be the acc/pump. that only work when you crank it on and it gives a large shot of fuel. Its to keep the bike bogging between gears. You probably need to take the carb apart and soak it over night in some strong carb cleaner. Most shops have tanks for this, so you might want to check and see if a shop will do that for you.
