Motorcycle Repair: idle cable on 88 Harley lowrider, throttle cable, twist grip

Question
I need to replace the throttle cable due to a brake in the elbow & was wondering how I go about doing this?

Answer
Close tot he throttle is the cable adjuster. Loosen the locknut and turn the cable so it shorter. Do this to both cables, if you have two. Remove the cover on the air filter, the air filter and the back plate. On the carb you will see the cables. Remov ethe throttle cable first and then the idle cable. Go to the throttle and remove the cover over the twist grip. Inside you will see the cables connected. Remove them and remove the cable from the housing. The cables screw in the housing. Install the new cable or cables in reverse.
Good luck and happy riding
