Most 2-cycles run between 30-1 and 45-1, depending on how hard you run them. The elite should run at around 32:1 as standard.

QUESTION: Elec starter don't work no clicking or anything battery is new. Won't run at full speed only runs full speed if you cover air intake half way with hand .I tried to adjust air and fuel and it don't seem to make a big difference. Idial good and run good at half speed. If air breather is on it gets to much air and won't run at full speed. I took carb. apart and cleaned it .
AnswerWith ref to the starter, sounds like perhaps an interlock is active, perhaps the neutral light switch?
The main jet needs clearing for the other problem, it sounds like. It is getting too much air, not enough fuel. Perhaps it has two chokes and one is blocked? I don't know what type of carb this has.
