Motorcycle Repair: 600 Katana, bikebandit com, suzuki motorcycle

Question
Tried to start the bike recently and found the battery dead so i bought a new battery installed and there seems to be a problem. Nothing lights up its like the battery is no good, I tried the battery from my quad that i know is good and still nothing. Checked the fuses over the battery and they seem to be good. Is there something I am missing??

Answer
Dustin, if you are asking non-Honda questions, give more information like the YEAR of production, please.

I arbitrarily used this page...

Lousy illustrations, however....

Basically you need a 12v test light and start searching for power. Ground the light to the battery ground, then to to the Positive terminal to be sure that you have 12+volts at the battery, then follow the wiring connections out from there. Hondas have fusible links in addition to the circuit fuses, but I can't tell what your bike might have.

See if you can get a copy of the wiring diagram from your local dealer.

Be sure the ground connections are clean and tight, as they can give off a lot of false leads when you don't have a good chassis/engine ground path.
