I just replaced the stator. All went well started and runs good,but when I went to ride all I have is 1st and 2nd gear. What did I do wrong or miss.

Greg, it depends on what all you did when you were in there.  You didn't need to change anything in the transmission or shift linkage to get to the stator.  Assuming you didn't take anything else a part when you replaced the stator, check the shifter lever and make sure the two punch marks on the shifter level and the end of the shifter shaft are line up.  Those are indexing marks to make sure the shifter is located correctly. I'm betting the shifter lever is hitting something preventing it from getting the right travel.
