Motorcycle Repair: Sportster Rocker Box, rocker arms, pushrods

Question
I have a leak that has gotten progressively worse between the lower rocker box and the head. I've got the top assembly off, but my questions is do I have to take the rocker arms out, or can I just remove the whole lower assembly since I only want to replace the gasket? Also, the manual doesn't mention it, but do I need to remove the 4 large bolts in a zig zag pattern, as for the heads, or does it matter with the lower rocker cover? The leak got worse after I installed the SE air cleaner and dynojet kit.

Answer
You dont have to remove the rocker arms to remove the lower box. You will however have to remove the pushrods to get the lower boxes off. Make sure your mark them as they are different lengths. remove the large bolts in a zig-zag pattern and well as install them
Good luck and happy riding
