Motorcycle Repair: 1982 cb 900 f wont fire, volt ohm meter, cb 900


Question
i have a 1982 cb 900 f and every time i turned the key on it blew the fuze so i search and found the wires melted right above the rear break pedal, they go into i think the stator but anyways i re did the wires but there are three yellow one white with red strip and one black i hook the white and black up right i know but i dont know if it matteres what yellow wire is connected or if all three yellow wires do the same thing but it stoped blowing fuzes and even turns over but it wont even try to fire so i checked the plug wires and i am getting spark any ideas would be greatly apreciated oh and this is a new bike to me do these 4 carb bikes have a choke somewere cause i cant find one thank you and just incase my name is nicholas and my email is  thank you again

Nicholas, you can hook the yellow wires from the stator up in any pattern.  The black and white wire is power to the coils.  Check to see if that has 12 volts to it.  Also you may want to check the other fuses and see if there isn't another one blown.  Power goes into the RH switch with a black wire and comes out as a black and white.  THe black and whtie wire goes to the coils.  Coming out of the coils there's a blue and a yellow wire that goes to the cpark boxes.  THe spark boxes open and close the coil circuits to cause the plugs to fire.  You need to track down where the system is not working properly.  You'll need a volt ohm meter for this.
