Motorcycle Repair: 1975 Honda CB750, high tension wires, wire splicers

Question
I recently was given a 1975 Honda CB750 and am in the process of fixing a few things.  One of the spark plug wires is broken and I have been told that I will have to replace all the wires and the coil in order to fix it.  Is that true?  If so, can you give me any advice or point me towards a website or book that could help?  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Jeremy, the wires are not replaceable so replacing the coils are about the only way to replace the high tension wires.  However, I've seen some plastic wire splicers that can be used to repair or extend plug wires.  They are a plastic cylinder about 1/2 inch diameter with a hole in the center.  Inside the tube there was a brass screw that you thread into the two ends of the plug wires.  It seemed like more of a temporary fix to me at the time but it would probably work.  There are a lot of sites with information.  I use the honda part direct site to look at the parts break down.
