Motorcycle Repair: 1998 gsxr 750, gsxr 750, electrical switch

bike starts fine, but dies when put in gear, i adjusted the clutch nothing when i
put it in gear it jumps and dies like the clutch is only half engaged suggestions

Check to see if there is a small electrical switch on the sidestand near the pivot point. It is a safety feature designed to kill the motor if you put the bike in gear with the sidestand down; if it is broken or the contacts are stuck it will cause the motor to die when you put it in gear even though the sidestand is up.
