Motorcycle Repair: Honda XR80R, honda xr80r, wireless router

Bought a used XR80R yesterday and I thought it needed a carb adjustment.  The engine would die unless the choke was left a little open.  If you closed the choke I can keep it running by giving it gas but it sounds and feels like its going to choke out.  After taking the carb apart and cleaning it (rumor of old fuel in system from previous owner)I put it back together and have the same issue only now when the choke is open the engine goes to really high rpm (throttle cable?).  Any ideas?

Sorry it taken so long Dennis, my wireless router quit working last week. I'm afraid you need to clean the carb again. If you check the low speed jet, it's probably still plugged.  I've not had much success getting those clean by soaking them. I take a small copper wire and poke through the jet to clean it out.
