Motorcycle Repair: 1974 Honda CB550 Turn Signals, honda cb550, flasher relay

Question
Yeah i have a 1974 Honda CB550 and my turn signals will come on but they will
just stay on. They won't flash. I have checked the bulbs and everything seems to
be fine. Is there a flasher or some sort of fuse i need to check? Thanks

Answer
A turn signal that comes on but will not flash is usually the result of a blown flasher relay (assuming that your battery is fully charged and the regulator/rectifier is also working). Somewhere under the seat or behind the sidecovers of your bike is the flasher relay, a small round cylinder with two wires attached to it that looks very similar to the one in this photo: http://www.outwestmotorcycles.com/catalog/images/nps-235-0278.gif

You can take the old one to any auto parts store and match it with one that is used on a car, it will be cheaper this way than trying to buy one from Honda.
