Motorcycle Repair: 81 cm 400e no spark, resistance measurements, resistance measurement

Question
I believe I have a stator problem, but the resistance measurements are very marginal. Pink and green wire 127 ohms, white and blue 66, and brown and light blue 197. I have checked the kill switch and even tried unhooking it. The spark plug coil is new and resistance measurement is good(17400 with caps, 7400 without). Cdi is new. I have 3.5-4 volts at yellow wire and mv reading at green wire to spark plug coil. Am I missing anything before I buy another part I do not need. Rectifier or regulator have anything to do with ignition? I have used the clymer manual and wish it was a bit more technical or had more info. How much voltage do I need to field the coil. Should I be able to get much of a reading from the pick up coil ie ac voltage? I am guessing I need 12 volts to primary side of coil or yellow wire, but what do I need at green wire. My understanding of this system is the battery has nothing to do with ignition, but the battery is good.

Answer
Shawn, there are only a couple of things that will cause a no spark condition.  The stator doesn't have to be charging but you must have a charged battery.  There needs to be 12 volts to the black and white wire out of the kill switch back to the spark unit.  the yellow or blue wires coming out of the spark are the ground circuits from the coils. The problem is either the pick ups, the spark boxes or the coils. The coils sound like there's okay so it has to be inthe pick up or spark boxes.  The pick up can be checked with an ohm meter.  I think those will have about 3.4 ohms but your manual will have that number.
