Motorcycle Repair: Engine Idle Speed control location on 05 GSXR 600, throttle cables, adjustment screw

Question
My idle is too low and it hesitates to keep running. It idles at 1100, but it should idle at 1300. Searching through the net several days didn't lead me anywhere. My bike is mostly covered up with fairings, and don't know where to start to look for my idle control. Thanks.

Answer
I have never worked on a GSXR 600, but most bikes have common carb setups and mechanisms. Take a close look at the mechanism where the throttle cables connect at the carbs... twist the throttle a few times and watch how everything moves. There should be a screw or small spring loaded knob near the bottom center of the carbs (or over to one side of them) that will move the carb mechanisms slightly when you turn it. that is your idle adjustment screw, turn it slowly in one direction and see if the motor speed increases or decreases, then adjust it to whatever rpm you want.
