Motorcycle Repair: replacing vintage main bearings, main bearings, skf

hi,i need to get main bearings for a 1929 bike,is there any thing special about mains; material..loading; or can i put in any type that are the right size,i know about axial and radial loading but none of the sites ive been [skf.. etc ]say if their bearings can handel being in a petrol motor, thanks.

If it were me I would stick with the bearing that is called for. If you use another bearing, and it doenst work then your right back to tearing down the motor and starting over. Check with Competition Distributing Company at 605-720-1903 and they should have the bearing you need
