Motorcycle Repair: tranny, jp cycles, ebay

have an 01 night train. i recently blow the transmission. well i have been looking around and i found some ultima transmissions on ebay for a good price. the problem is all of them say they are for a 1990-1999. i am just wondering if they would fit my bike and what the difference is between the 99 and 00. i know the motor is different but that dont mean the tranny is. and i have looked at pics of the 90s tranny and compared them to a 00s and they look pretty much the same. i am also looking at the open primary and i am having the same issues with that as well. i have even seen the barnett open primary in the jp cycles that says it fits 99-06. but the ultima one i seen on ebay says 90-99. the best part is the barnett ans ultima look almost identical. On the trans. even though they look the same the mounting is different so you are going to have to stick with the 2000 and up. On the open primary, I know the Barnett open primary will fit a 99-06. As to the Ultima it will only fit a 90-99.
