Motorcycle Repair: starter not engaging to crank the engine, old ford mustang, flywheel teeth
QuestionOn a 72shovelhead, my bendix engagauges but the drivetrain does not turn. starter does spin, but no cranking, battery checks out at 12v. brand new spyke hi torque starter.
AnswerJustin, I don't know anything about H-D machines. But if it is like my old Ford Mustang, when the starter spins and the motor doesn't either the Bendix drive is dead/slipping or there is a bad spot on the flywheel teeth where it engages.
There are H-D experts on this site.
