Motorcycle Repair: re-jet, drag pipes, fuel mixture

Question
My question is i had my bike-2007 v-star 1100(Yamaha) jetted when i added my cobra drag pipes--i just purchase a speedstar airfilter housing with a basic filter--do i have to rejet my bike again or can i use the jetting already inplace- I've turn it on and it run good--but do know what will happen if i do rejet if it needs it?

Answer
First off I only work on harleys and truimphs, but I'll attempt to answer your question. I'll assume the bike ran great after the rejetting from the installation of the cobra drag pipes? Assuming that a speedstar airfilter housing is for higher air flow, this would lean out the fuel mixture. You say you ran the bike after installing the airfilter and it ran good. Did you ride it or just idle it for a few minutes. It there was no missing, black smoke or back firing and most importantly the drag pipes did not start to turn blue/purple at the heads then your probably ok. But if any of the previously did happen then you should have it rejetted. If you don't rejet if required you'll blue those new drag pipes. If its really lean you could burn valves and have a loss in horsepower and the engine will run hotter.
