QUESTION: how touchy are these carbs to clean myself, I have soom mechanical abilities. But they seem intimidating.

Answer
THey are pretty simple compared to a car.  The number of moving parts are less and the number of adjustments are fewer.  I'd recommend you only take off the float bowls when you're cleaning.  That's normally the only area that needs to be cleaned.  If you pull the jets and make sure they are clean and the floats are free, that's about all you'll need to do.

If you separate all of the carbs, it can be tricky to get them back together and working right.
