Motorcycle Repair: head mods, stock type, drag specialties

QUESTION: I am currently getting my 883 cylinders bored out for 1200. Do I need to do any machining to the heads. In particular the bottom of the head that sits on top of the cylinder.

QUESTION: 9.0:1 flat top pistons. I picked the kit up from drag specialties if that helps.

Answer
As long as the pistons are designed for conversion from 883 to 1200 you dont have to do anything to the heads. If they are stock type 1200 pistons you will have to make a cut on the heads or you will have to much compression
